Things are growing all over InnRoads. We’re putting out more videos than ever and have plans to expand that. Extra Life is in full swing. There are plans forming to expand our presence at GenCon 2016. For myself, I’ve been stretching myself thin trying to put together important materials, for those who want to run a tabletop gaming ministry like we do here, as well as planning multiple game days in local churches in the near future.
I share all this with you not just to thank you for your continued support of the ministry on this site, our podcasts, and over at The Tavern. I also want to address the lack of new content on the site that isn’t tied to these things. For our first year, we tried to keep adding new written content on the site. However, with so much happening out in the world in the greater work of the ministry – it is difficult to keep that content flowing with regularity. However, you can help.

We are always looking for submissions, but now there is even more opportunity than ever to share your thoughts on the site. Our articles break down into the following general categories:
Getting Started: Getting started articles are designed to come alongside people who are just getting into the hobby of tabletop gaming or are curious about what it has to offer.
Features: Explanations of game play, instruction, stories about growing in the hobby.
Theology of Play: These articles are reflections on the gaming experience. It goes beyond reviews to explain the deeper issues of life, faith, and community that come to the surface through playing these games or being in the hobby itself.
Features: Implications of theme/mechanics, stories of how gaming experiences reflect aspects of life/faith.
The Abbey: The Abbey is dedicated to specifically addressing the use of the gaming table in ministry. It is a series of articles to address the distinctions between getting together with your buddies to play games and intentionally using games as outreach and/or discipleship within the context of church ministry.
Features: Stories of active gaming ministry within churches, how-to articles about establishing gaming events that reach people, addressing concerns about the hobby for those who may be uncomfortable associating games with church.
