What happens when there is pain you can’t fight for a problem that you can’t fully identify? What happens when you spend time in the ER asking God to intervene – and he doesn’t? How do we live in a place that still follows God – hungers to get closer to him and desperately cling to him – when our life sucks and it seems like God is perfectly content to leave us there?
The short version is that I have no idea, but I know there’s an example in Scripture of what that place looks like. It lives in a small introductory phrase … but even if he doesn’t.
This one might not have the concrete “take away” – but I hope it reminds us that there are people here with us in the middle of the suck. That God is still worth following even when it seems like we’re left high and dry. And even if we enter into the fire – we will be delivered out of its hands.
