It is easy to get lost in the weeds of Leviticus. It’s easy to get caught up in, let’s call it detailed, recountings of issues and practices that are no longer a part of daily life. But even the wandering bards know that we at the Bard & Bible are all about looking at the portions of scripture that are easy to overlook or read like dry instruction manuals and finding out why God would ever want that stuff included in the Bible in the first place. What if these lists weren’t just about delineating religious practices for a certain people at a certain, but also a reflection on a God who wants to be close to His people and dwell among them?
This tale is brought to you by Shaneen Thompson – writer over at The Hoot & Howl where she interacts with the world of geek culture, books, media, and occasional declarations of undying love for the Peter Capaldi’s Doctor in Doctor Who. You can also listen to her hang out with the crew at the 1 Geek 4:11 podcast which can be listened to at your leisure in podcast form or seen live on their twitch channel.
